macOS Mail Templates Made Easy: Create and Save Custom Emails

Stationery (custom email templates with backgrounds, images, and layouts) used to be a feature in Mail on macOS. Apple removed Stationery in macOS Mojave (10.14) and later, so it’s not available anymore in the Mail app on modern Macs. However, you can create “stationery-like” emails in current versions of Mail and sa ve them as templates.

Create Your Own Template

  • Start your new mail and format it to your liking using the Format > Show Fonts or Format > Show Colors menu options.
  • When you’re done go to File > Save. Mail automatically saves it in the Drafts mailbox.
  • Go to Mailbox > New Mailbox to create a mailbox folder to store your saved template. Give your template a meaningful name and select your desired location, and click OK.
  • Drag you template from the Drafts mailbox to your new templates mailbox.

Use Signatures as Templates

  • Go to Mail > Settings > Signatures to create a styled signature with logos, banners, or layouts.
  • Click the + symbol to name and create your stylized signature.
  • Apply you signature to new messages for a consistent design.

Third-Party Apps

  • Use Pages to create a design. Then paste it into your mail message.
  • Apps like Mail Designer 365Canva, or web-based email editors can create rich email templates. Follow their instructions to export your design as HTML mail and paste it into macOs Mail.

Go where to mail? (for stationary)
If I go to mail, new mail pops up- like I was going to send an email
When I go into settings to mail, then I don’t get the bar up there so no new message view or custom toolbar etc. so I obviously am not going to the right place in mail tell me where to go please (nicely) thanks Connie
